The Mildura and district region has natural and man made tourist attractions that many other areas can only be envious of. The Murray and Darling Rivers provide for a number of water activities including fishing, water sports and paddlesteamer cruises, with consistently good weather ensuring many days of glorious sunshine each year these activities are always available to enjoy.

Known as the Mildura Murray Outback Region it boasts over 41 tourists attractions including museums, places of historical interest, paddleboats, art and craft galleries and many award winning wineries such as Trentham Estate. The many attractions ensure something for everyone.

Insight into Mildura and District

Mildura is located on the banks of the Murray River in North West Victoria and was developed along with the expansion of the irrigation. Mildura is an aboriginal word that translates to mean 'Red Earth'. Alfred Deakin, statesman and advocate for irrigation persuaded the Chaffey Brothers, Canadian born irrigation experts to visit region. They recognised its potential and selected Mildura as the first site for development.

Today Mildura city is a thriving regional city with a population over 25,000 and the Sunraysia district has over 50,000 in population. Mildura is one of Australia's fastest growing regional areas, providing many with a rewarding lifestyle along the Murray River.

Mildura is fast becoming recognised as a region for quality food and wine. The climate is ideal for growing grapes and many wineries provide cellar door sales. There is also a large number of restaurants in the area including the diverse offerings of feast street where people can enjoy many local delicacies including murray cod, yabbies and fresh vegetable and fruit produce. All of what Mildura and district has to offer is accessible from the Mildura Golf Club Resort.
